Do not buy any other TVI looked for about six months. I waited for the 3D TV to come out knowing that there would be a sweet spot, where a product would just make it worth buying without burning a hole in your wallet. This TV is the best one for the value. It is imposing, gorgeous, and absolutely awesome!
I compared this TV to the Sony 55 Inch, and the new Samsung LED 55 3D. What I saw was that the Samsung LED and the LCD were exactly the same...except the price tag. The SONY TV picture was great...but the TV itself looked terrible. This TV is simple yet elegant.
If you are planning to spend between $1200 to $1700, this is the TV for you. For the money you get a product that has great value, appealing when even when it is off, and absolutely mindblowing when it is on.
This TV has taken our movie experience to another level. Coupled with a great sound system, you could feel like you are in the movie. The picture clarity will remind you of a sunny spring morning. You will finally experience the movie environement in a whole different way. You will see the breeze flowing through the leaves, the charred skin of the bbq chicken, or even the pimples on their faces. It is so clear that you will be blinking 2x just to make sure you are not seeing things.

Great TVWe bought this 55" LCD Samsung TV to replace our old trusty Sony 46" rear projection TV. The difference is so dramatic it just blew us away. The picture is so sharp and the color is so vivid even regular DVD movies (non-BluRay) look so much better. The only issue I have is the non-film looking picture when we watch movies. The default picture settings are so bright/contrasty/vivid, most of the DVD movies we've watched look more like TV video broadcast than film based movies. I tried the movie picture setting which helps a little but still not quite film movie like.
I have the TV connected to our home network. It is quite easy to set up the TV to streaming movies and music from the Internet and my home PCs. It is so cool to stream photos wirelessly from my laptop and watch the slide shows on the TV. Setting up Netflix and Pandora is a snap too.
Overall we are quite happy with the new TV, especially the picture quality and the connectivity flexibility. The only improvement I wish would be a better movie picture setting and a real internet browser built-in, then it will be perfect.
Be Amazed! I have to honestly say that over my electronics purchases over my lifetime - this tv is the best value bar none! 4 years back I purchased the state of the art samsung lcd 32" tv which was great at the time - but I just recently replaced it with this model. You will be blown away - my old favorite DVDs Predator, Aliens, etc... Look so amazing its unreal. The video footage looks so good it looks pre-production because it looks so real. It is a whole different viewing experience. You will be re-experiencing your favorite DVDs in realistic quality! I also have a EPSON projector and it just doesn't feel the same as this tv. This tv is crystal clear - with amazing color and sharpness. You can look up my other reviews - but I honestly have to say you cannot go wrong with this tv. To me its just magic - that you can buy such a high quality viewing experience at this price! Simply Amazing!
